It is Angela Again You know All About Me

Ravelry.com name - Knitstertoo

I have not posted in awhile and winter has come to Williamsburg, VA, Brrrr. I am knitting, though slowly. My shrug is completed and I shall get pictures taken of the shrug, with me in it.

I am working on a sweater - Something Red -. You can see the beginning of it on my Ravelry Page. I am also working on my Kimono Jacket and trying to begin my Starburst Sweater which is kicking me from here to there and back again.

Nothing much right now. Just trying to stay calm while dealing with my mother - who was taken to the hospital on Wednesday, where I was all day. I broke my new bluetooth while getting ready to meet the ambulance and took out more than I knitted while sitting in the Emergency Room with her.

Went out to call my husband and when I got back into the room, she was eying her IV, had taken off the oxygen reader and was taking off the blood pressure cuff. Oh boy!! Called my sister at 8:45 am on Weds. morning and she called me back at 5:45 Thursday night.

Today my daughter called me at 4:30 and told me that she called my mother at the Assisted Living Facility and she could not talk because Mama was getting ready to "Catch the Bus to Church". I called and was called back immediately and she was dressed for church.

Please give me strength to live through this. Mama is almost 93 y0, has Parkinsons and I believe age related dementia. Anyway, knitting does keep me sane. Talking with John and just chilling with Pepper in my lap.

More later all,

Angela and
of course

A Rainy, Rainy Day

You know it is me and how old I am

RAVELRY NAME: knitstertoo

Today is a very gloomy and rainy day. That is not to say that we do not need the rain desperately.

Hi There Knitting Chicks, One sleeve of my Shrug is completed, though I have not bound it off yet and I have completed more than half of the other. I received my Snowflake yarn yesterday, but have not opened it yet. I have so much yarn to wind into balls. That alone will take hours.

Thank goodness I have all of the tools I need. Just wish I had help or a buddy to sit with me and help. My knitting friend is going to Richmond for a couple of weeks while her floors are refinished.
But when the shrug is completed, before I can knit anything else, I must ball yarn. I also want to thank everyone for all of the pattern links.

I really want to knit a pair of socks. My first pair. Sort-of nervous about it.
Any one have any hints or suggestions? I printed several patterns from the Web while waiting for a book to come in the mail.

Well, I am going now and knit., after I take a nap that is.

Signing off in rainy Williamsburg, VA,

Angela

Great Websites

Angela
An almost 62 y0 Grandmama

taken 2 September 07

Hi there Knitting-Chicks, As you all know I love to knit and order yarns. Here are some web sites which I order from regularly.

kpixie hard to find yarn and knitting accessories [missa and jen]

Dreamweaveryarns.com [Melissa and her sister]

StyledbyKristin.com [Kristin]

I have found the owners of all of these sites very responsive. They will call or E-mail if there is a question or problem with instructions, yarn, etc.

If there is something I need {or want}: i.e.; a yarn baller, or an 'umbrella' I have always found it worth the time to do an Internet search for the best price. I have done pretty well and have always had good luck.

My Kaffe Fassett Coat

This is me an almost 62 yo Grandmama
Taken 02 Sept 09

Here are more pictures. including my Kaffe Fassett coat which I made in 1987. Believe it or not it took me six weeks to knit the coat itself. I then out it up from May to October and finished the facings. I was able to wear it that entire winter in Chicago with just a jacket under it. I also met Kaffe that next year and he signed the book from which I got the pattern. He was in Williamsburg this month, October 2007 and he remember the coat and then signed all of my other books by him. I purchased another book by Brandon Mably of the Kaffe Fassett workshop who was traveling with Kaffe Fassett this month on the USA tour.

The book the pattern came from.

The "Man's" Signature from 1987 or 1988.

Some of my receipts. The coat cost about $400. Someone wanted me to knit them one, but was shocked at how much the yarn cost.

Thank you for reading,

More later. Maybe I will finish the shrug this week.

I Had To Begin ANew

MY NEW BLOG PAGE
I Love To Knit
almost 62 yo Grandmama
taken 02 Sept 07

This is the back of the Snowflake Sweater Sweater I just purchased from StyledbyKristin.com in Waikiki Tan.

StyledbyKristin.com Kimono Jacket
I am knitting in Tilli Tomas Yarns in
Moroccan Blue.

Hi All, Knitting Chicks and everyone else,

I do not know what happened but I have had to begin with my blog all over again. I have the same address: pep5per.blogspot.com. We shall see if this one works. I am going to include the pictures I included before and my whines from before.
But, I cannot stop buying yarn. I just purchased some more from Styled By Kristen.com. The new sweater's picture is above.

The shrug I mentioned previously was going quite well, but I had to take the sleeve out. Thought I was getting the hang of DPNs, I was having some problems with counting and I discovered a couple of problems in my knitting. So-o-o-, I took it out and I began the sleeve began it again. I do want it to be perfect.

The Shrug

The Shrug with DPNs

The Completed Shrug - eventually

The Shawl without Fringe

I am including once more the pictures of the shrug and the shawl I made. I have received so many compliments on the shawl. I have been asked If I made it or if I had someone make it for me. I wanted to ask if I looked as I had two left hands.

I also have gotten some new yarn for a Moebius scarf and cape from Mountain Yarns. It is some gorgeous yarn. This is not counting the yarn I have for two purses, a scarf and things I cannot remember. Ah-h-h-h!! This is from a book by Cat Bordhi, A Treasury of Magical Knitting; pages

I have taken pictures of my Kaffe Fassett coat but I am going to put them on the next blog page. Please look at them.

Well, if you get this far, you deserve a GOLD Star.

Thank you for reading.
